# Settlement asset: USDG

All principal, interest, fees and liquidation proceeds are denominated in **USDG**, the Paxos Global Dollar.

## Why USDG

| Reason                    | Detail                                                                                                                 |
| ------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Native to the chain | USDG is issued natively on Robinhood Chain rather than bridged, which removes bridge risk from the settlement path. |
| Already the lending asset | Robinhood Earn, the chain's first lending product, uses USDG through Morpho. Liquidity and integrations already exist. |
| Regulatory footing | USDG is regulated under MiCA in the EU, which matters for a protocol whose primary market is the EEA. |
| Idle-capital fit | The whitelisted Morpho vault for [idle capital](/protocol/idle-capital.md) is a USDG vault. |

## Additional settlement assets

The protocol's market key includes `loanToken`, so a second settlement asset is a new, isolated market configuration rather than a change to existing loans. Candidates:

* **USDe** is present on Robinhood Chain.
* **USDC via CCTP**, once bridged liquidity on the chain is confirmed.

A new settlement asset will only be added once bridged liquidity is confirmed, the token has been reviewed for pause and blacklist behaviour, and a vault for idle capital exists. The addition goes through the timelock like any other parameter.

## Decimals and precision

USDG uses 6 decimals. Stock Tokens use 18. `OracleRouter` quotes prices in loan-token base units per whole collateral token, and `LoanSettlement` values collateral as `amount × price / 10^collateralDecimals`, so LTV and interest arithmetic stay in loan-token units. The invariant suite checks the arithmetic.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.syndromics.xyz/collateral-and-assets/usdg.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
